• Gwen’s Makeover Story

Gwen was our second makeover client. Here’s her story…

3DPearl_2011_0421_mod-2 Gwen works in the Public Affairs Department for a local hospital so her day-to-day work requires her to interface with a variety of people including hospital executives, physician leaders, the media, as well as elected officials and their representatives.  Just as important, Gwen is a busy mom and finds herself challenged to feel like she’s hit the mark with her complete appearance.  Getting ready and out the door in the morning with hair, makeup, and wardrobe to “look the part” with absolute confidence is a challenge.  “I certainly don’t always have the confidence to pull it off because of how I view my appearance and the fact that I don’t have the perfect size 6 figure.”

Gwen had previously worked with an image consultant and she confided that she wasn’t happy with the outcome.  She said that she felt like the consultant was trying to change her.

“The experience with Diana was a complete education.  She taught me how to shop for   4x6_IMG_0840_mod-1 my body type, for both clothes and accessories, and she gave me some great layering tips to get more out of my wardrobe.  I love to shop and this will keep me pointed in the right direction.”

Participating in the makeover process is a very personal thing.  Gwen communicated that she enjoyed the process and the education and very much liked the idea of inspiring others to do this to improve their own confidence—but in an anonymous kind of way.

Thank you to the Aveda Richard Michael Salon and participating stylists who worked with all our makeover candidates.

Hi Susan,
Feel free to recommend some of your favorites. You may or may not remember, but it was books that brought us together when we met in 2005 at Kathleen P’s business book club.
Best,
Diana
