Scott is our first makeover candidate and last month we gave you a peek at Scott’s journey. Scott is a Facilities Manager and has worked hard to move from supervisor to middle management. He’s on track to finish his MBA later this year and hopes to combine his education and experience to move into senior level management soon.
Because Scott is looking to take his career to the next level over the next year, he decided that an image makeover would help to ensure that he was presenting a brand consistent with his experience and education and give him an edge as he aspires into higher management.
Scott, like many of my clients, shared that shopping caused him a good deal of frustration, so it was easier for him to not care about his appearance. Not caring meant he could avoid having to shop for a business wardrobe. When he did shop, he indicated he would gravitate toward the items he’d seen on others, or purchase an outfit displayed in a store without knowing if it was the right style for him or if it conveyed the appropriate message.
Take a moment to view Scott's before and after photos and you can see how this image update creates a commanding and very professional look.
Following the makeover, we asked Scott for some feedback on the experience and here’s what he shared.
“My image makeover was a pleasant experience and it heightened my awareness of controlling what my image is projecting in the work environment. My initial feeling toward an image makeover was to admit that I did not have a grasp on what I was projecting from my existing image. The process took me through various stages of discovery, which later became the basis of building the new me, so to speak. The evaluation of what I was doing and where I wanted to go became the building block toward my education of controlling my image. I now look at my image as a first impression that has purpose in what I want others to perceive of me. I am happy with the positive results the image makeover provided by "Brand You Image". I highly recommend "Brand You Image" to anyone who is looking for career advancement or has an interest to improve their visual effectiveness in dealing with people.”
