• The Perfect Eyebrows

Each month we publish a question from a program attendee, reader or follower. Here’s a topic that has come up several times in recent months.

IStock_000012440417XSmallQ: I've always been very conscious about my eyebrows.  Lately, it seems like there are a lot of different methods for grooming your eyebrows.  What do you recommend?

A: I'm so glad that this question came up again during a recent workshop.  Brows help to define your eyes and are ultimately a focal point during face-to-face interactions. Even if you don't like to wear a lot of make-up, a well shaped brow will help in polishing your over all appearance.

A professional who is well versed in various methods of hair removal, will follow these steps to create high definition eyebrows.

    1.  Determine what you have to work with, and if you're fair-haired or if darker brows thin or fade out at the ends, you'll want to begin by tinting the brow hairs that do exist.

    2.  Next, using a brow pencil to draw your shape make sure that it starts directly above the inside corner of your eye, arches above the outside of your iris, and if you angle a pencil from the side of your nostril up to the outside corner of your eye, that will show you where your brow should stop.

    3.  Once the shape is defined, waxing between the brows and the finest hairs below the brow will clean those areas up quickly. Using tweezers to remove a hair or two at a time will give [you] control when refining the shape.

    4.  Threading has become increasingly popular and I suggest this method for fine hair removal on the forehead, temples and face.

    5.  To complete the process, use brow cake or eye shadow to fill in and lengthen if needed.

Once you have your brows professionally shaped, check daily and pluck brow hairs as they begin to emerge to increase the time between appointments.

Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips for newbie blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.
